Brissett is likely to have a career high in passing yards this season

Sometimes it takes a little bit of trial and error for reality to sink in. Nevertheless, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett has definitely settled in from the hype that surrounded his takeover of the starting quarterback job in the middle of the season.

Brissett isn’t likely to eclipse his season-high in passing yards from his tenure with the Colts in 2017, but he will reach another milestone, seeing that his total of 19 passing touchdowns is the most he’s ever had in a season. The Cardinals can at least appreciate Brissett for his competitiveness, but they will need to hone it in moving forward into 2026 and redirect their passions towards quarterback Kyler Murray.

After the bone-chilling 26-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the Cardinals will move on to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Brissett had an opportunity to tie the game in week 16 during the closing minutes but threw an interception to defensive back C.J Henderson with just 0:42 to go on a play that ultimately sealed the deal. Brissett has thrown for 2,911 yards so far this season but his seven interceptions have been a blemish that has weighed heavy to offset the glory of his highlights.

It’s been a very sad season for the Cardinals, who are now 3-12 heading into Week 17. The Cardinals have tons of weapons on offense and a clear ability the tally in yards and this should give fans some hope heading into next season. However, the hallucinating idea of Brissett being the savior of the 2025 season has long vanished and the only mission now should be to avoid getting blasted by the Bengals this upcoming Sunday.
