Cook was one of the best running backs in the country during the 2025 regular season, finishing with 295 carries for 1,659 yards and 16 touchdowns. It was his first season with Jacksonville State after spending the first two seasons of his collegiate career with TCU.

He rushed for only 58 yards in 2023 before finishing 2024 with 460 yards and nine touchdowns. Cook has improved his numbers in each collegiate season and appears ready for a bigger opportunity.

His 1,659 rushing yards ranked first in the FBS, and his 16 rushing touchdowns ranked fourth. He had 10 100-yard games during the season, and his best individual performance came on Oct. 9 against Sam Houston, finishing the game with 31 carries for 218 yards and two touchdowns.

Cook was part of the 2023 recruiting class and was a four-star recruit, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He was the No. 60 recruit in Texas and the No. 22 running back recruit in the country. He was also the No. 249 overall recruit in the nation.

The transfer portal will open on Jan. 2 and close on Jan. 16. It’s the only transfer portal window of the year, after the NCAA opted to eliminate the spring window. Players can enter the portal and commit to new schools during that two-week window.
