The Carolina Panthers just might be getting back some pretty big help before the end of the regular season.
As announced on Wednesday morning, the team has designated starting right guard Robert Hunt for a return to practice. The 2024 Pro Bowler is now expected to participate in this afternoon’s session ahead of the Panthers’ Week 17 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Hunt sustained a tear of his biceps tendon during the Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He was placed on injured reserve the next day and has missed the past 13 games as a result.
With Hunt sidelined since mid-September, the Panthers have had to use a handful of different options at the right guard spot—including Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Jake Curhan and, most recently, Austin Corbett.
Carolina has 21 days to move Hunt back to the active roster.
