The New York Jets head into Week 17 fresh off a 29-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The Jets have been at the bottom of NFL national power rankings polls most weeks throughout the year.
Is this week going to be different?
Here’s how the Jets fare in national media power rankings polls heading into Week 17:
32. New York Jets (29): Trust that process … even if it means losing three in a row by an average of 25 points.
29. Jets (No. 29; 3-12): Things will get better. One of these days. Statistically, they have to. Right?

One concern: Quarterback
How do you pick just one for the Jets? There are loads of concerns after another disastrous season. Brady Cook is about to make his third start, even after averaging 5.3 yards per attempt Sunday with an interception on a day the team totaled just 195 yards of offense and didn’t score a touchdown.

Aaron Glenn’s days as head coach of the New York Jets may be numbered.
That isn’t to say he isn’t an excellent defensive coach. Or that he wasn’t put in what was essentially an untenable position—the Jets have an undrafted rookie starting at quarterback, the team’s best wide receiver is hurt, and New York traded arguably its two best defenders away.
But getting waxed by an average (at best) Saints team is indicative of a team that just hasn’t made any progress in Glenn’s brief tenure. The Jets need a complete reset: a new quarterback, a remade roster and a new head coach.
That’s not what they hoped to be getting when they hired Glenn earlier this year. Unfortunately for the Jets, this is a familiar story.
29. They are going in an ugly direction when it comes to the product on the field. One has to wonder if Aaron Glenn is safe — even if some say he will be.
32. New York Jets
They barely put up a fight in New Orleans and don’t seem to have any fight left at all. They may not be tanking for a draft pick, but they sure do look the part.

The Jets are in “hard to watch” territory now. They’ve lost three straight games and are struggling with rookie quarterback Brady Cook under center. Cook assembled a 28.5 overall PFF grade against the Saints in the 29-6 Week 16 loss, and there aren’t many franchises that await season’s end more than the Jets.
A positive spin, though: The Jets‘ offensive line could be an excellent unit in 2026. Rookie tackle Armand Membou (71.6 grade; 30th) has been a delight in 2025, and second-year tackle Olumuyiwa Fashanu (70.0 grade; 36th) is developing nicely, too. With the tackle spots secure for the next half a decade, the Jets are in a position to finally find their franchise quarterback.

I hate to belabor this, but we are now two weeks away from the Jets setting an unbreakable record for going an entire season without an interception (until we move to 18 games in two seasons, anyway). The Vikings have twenty-one interceptions this year. The Lions and the Rams, tied for the second fewest interceptions in the NFL, have five.

Rookie of the year: Right tackle Armand Membou
A no-brainer. The No. 7 pick has been terrific since day one. Among tackles, he ranks 12th in run block win rate and 21st in pass block win rate. He has started and finished every game, rarely looking like he’s overmatched even against the best competition. It certainly looks like general manager Darren Mougey nailed his first draft pick. With Membou and second-year left tackle Olu Fashanu, the Jets should have their bookend tackles for years to come.
