Vols’ defensive back Colton Hood declares for NFL draft

Colton Hood, a standout defensive back for Tennessee, has declared for the NFL draft.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Vols Defensive Back Colton Hood has declared for the NFL draft.

Hood spent one season at Tennessee after previously being at Auburn and Colorado, earning All-SEC second team honors from the Associated Press and All-SEC third team honors from the league’s coaches.

The Georgia native was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week after his Tennessee debut against Syracuse, breaking up three passes and returning a fumble for a touchdown.

According to the university, Hood committed to the Vols in May 2025, playing his redshirt freshman season of 2024 at Colorado, where he was part of the starting rotation.
