A day after being named to his first-career Pro Bowl, Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Commanders in Week 16.

This is the first Player of the Week award for the 22-year-old DeJean.

Against the Commanders, DeJean had 4 tackles, 4 pass breakups and an interception off Josh Johnson in the third quarter. That was DeJean’s second interception of the season.

DeJean is the third Eagles player to win Defensive Player of the Week this season. Quinyon Mitchell took the honor in Week 4 and Jordan Davis won in Week 11. Davis was also Special Teams Player of the Week back in Week 3.

DeJean is also the fourth former Iowa defensive back to ever win a Player of the Week award, joining Merton Hanks (4x), Desmond King (2x) and Bob Sanders.

After an impressive rookie season as a second-round pick in 2024, which was capped off by a pick-6 in Super Bowl LIX, DeJean has been even better in Year 2. DeJean has started all 15 games this season, playing both inside and outside cornerback. He has 2 interceptions, 84 tackles, 16 pass breakups, 4 TFLs and 1 FF.
