The Kansas City Chiefs are not only set to miss the 2025 NFL postseason, the team is buried in a slew of injuries at the quarterback position.
Not only did Kansas City star Patrick Mahomes go down the same game the Chiefs were eliminated from the postseason, backup Gardner Minshew has since been injured for the reminder of 2025 as well.
Because of that, the Buffalo Bills have now been entered into the equation.
Former Chiefs-turned-Bills practice squad quarterback Shane Buechele has been signed by Kansas City off of Buffalo’s practice squad:
Buechele, 27, has been the Bills’ defacto third quarterback on the depth chart from their practice squad.
Losing Buechele is not a big deal for now… but with the playoff approaching, the Bills might want to make sure someone is in that third position… or Buffalo might want to make sure they can get Buechele back at the end of the regular season.
Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
