New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is embracing the holiday spirit in his new home, spending his first Christmas in the city with close family.
On Christmas Eve, the young signal-caller shared his excitement about the intimate gathering and longstanding traditions during a media session.
“Yeah, just meals is kind of the big one. My mom makes the best crescent rolls. They’re all out here right now, so it’s going to be cool to have our first Christmas in New York and be as a family. Just excited that they’re out here for it,” Dart said.
Dart also took time to experience one of the city’s iconic holiday sights, visiting the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree for the first time.
“Yeah, I went and saw the tree. It was my first time seeing it,” he said. “I did think it was going to be a little bigger than what it was, but it was cool to see the iconic tree.”
The celebration will be small and personal, with Dart noting, “Just the seven of us. Or six of us, sorry — six of us.”
As the season winds down, the holiday offers Dart a meaningful pause to reconnect with loved ones amid the demands of his first NFL year in The Big Apple.
