Trevor Lawrence, Liam Coen and the Jacksonville Jaguars take on Philip Rivers, Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr, Shane Steichen and the Indianapolis Colts in a huge game in the AFC South with playoff implications.
The Daniel Jones injury and Sauce Gardner injury have been catastrophic to their chances of making a Super Bowl run and losing 2 first round picks to the New York Jets in incredibly rich talent drafts in 2026 and 2027. The Jaguars can clinch the AFC South with a win and a Texans loss, meanwhile a loss from the Colts or a Texans win eliminates them from the playoffs.The Jaguars have consistently beat up on inferior opponents this year and very good teams like the Broncos and Chargers both by double digits, they still have a realistic chance at the 1 seed, with their number 1 ranked rushing defense thanks to Arik Armstead, Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker on the front line and Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd behind them to clean things up and defend the pass very well. The Travis Hunter injury takes away speed and a versatile weapon on defense but Brian Thomas Jr has stepped up this year and so has Parker Washington, Jakobi Myers and the elusive running back have a stellar season Travis Etienne.
Laiatu Latu, J.T. Tuimoloau and the rest of the front 7 will need to get pressure on Lawrence consistently as the run game will be tough enough to stop. Josh Downs and Alec Pierce are very good weapons for Rivers as he looks to continue his good play. The Brayshul Tuten injury has taken off one of the faster running backs in the league but with Etienne playing great and Lawrence using his legs often, the run game has dangerous and it was in the upset win over the Broncos.
The Deforest Buckner injury has impacted one of the best defensive tackles in the league, they could not stop the 49ers a week ago which may make it very tough against the Liam Coen Jaguars who just dominated the Broncos.
