After beating the Indianapolis Colts 48-27 on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium, the San Francisco 49ers will host the Chicago Bears for a primetime battle at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday night in Week 17.

With two weeks left in the 2025 regular season, San Francisco has put together an 11-4 record, which is good enough for second place in the division and the fifth seed in the conference.

Week 17 could help the 49ers take over as the top team in the NFC West and NFC as a whole if things break right for them.

Here’s a quick rooting guide of everything that the 49ers and their fans should be hoping for in Week 16:

If the 49ers beat the Bears and the Panthers beat the Seahawks, San Francisco would have the No. 1 seed in the NFC heading into a Week 18 matcup with Seattle.

The Falcons beating the Rams would make it tougher for the 49ers to fall below Los Angeles in the NFC West standings and the conference playoff seeding. The rest would make seeding easier as well, or could help eliminate teams from contention, such as the Lions and Buccaneers.
