With the New Orleans Saints’ final home game of the 2025 NFL season in the rearview mirror, the team will now turn its sights on a road trip to Nashville with a game versus the 3-12 Tennessee Titans set for this weekend. The Saints are riding a three-game win streak with hopes of extending that mark to four straight victories and improving their current record of 5-10.
New Orleans currently has the 26th-ranked offense in the league, averaging just over 300 yards per game and scoring an average of an even 17. Meanwhile, Tennessee’s defense is ranked top 20, giving up averages of 341.7 yards and 26.9 points per game.
The Saints are coming off a 29-6 dismantling of the New York Jets in which quarterback Tyler Shough threw for over 300 yards and a touchdown. His performance increased season totals to 1,792 yards and seven TDs, marks that rank 28th and 33rd in the league, respectively.
Wide receiver Chris Olave eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark on the season and is just eight receptions away from 100. He is ranked inside the top ten at the position for catches, yards, and touchdowns. The 25-year-old wideout is having a career year for New Orleans.
After a vintage, all-around performance versus the Jets, Taysom Hill became the only player in the NFL’s Super Bowl era to achieve over 1,000 passing, rushing, and receiving yards. The gadget player finished last week’s game with 36 yards through the air, 42 on the ground, and passed once for a 38-yard touchdown to Olave.
The Titan defense is led by linebacker Cedric Gray, who ranks sixth in the league with 144 tackles this year. Gray, a fourth-round draft pick just a season ago, also ranks third in the solo tackle category with 85.
Linebacker Cody Barton (3), safety Xavier Woods (2), and cornerback Roger McCreary (1) each have interceptions this year for Tennessee. The Titans also have five forced fumbles and recoveries on the season.
Two of Tennessee’s first three draft picks last offseason were spent on the defensive side of the ball. They selected UCLA’s Oluwafemi Oladejo in the second round before taking Penn State’s Kevin Winston Jr. in the third. Unfortunately for Titans’ fans, both players have landed on injured reserve this year.
While they will not get to partake in this weekend’s game against the Saints, the edge rusher and safety could be part of a major turnaround in Tennessee next season, so long as they can stay healthy and on the football field.
New Orleans is the favorite in Sunday’s matchup and for good reason. It has been a season to forget in Nashville, but that does not mean anything is a given. The Saints have a chance to end this season on a high note, and I would not expect their winning ways to halt here.
