Iowa State tight end Benjamin Brahmer plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a statement on his social media. He spent three seasons with the team.
This season, Brahmer had 37 catches, 446 yards, six touchdowns and 12.1 yards per catch. In three seasons, Brahmer has 75 catches, 977 yards, nine touchdowns and 13 yards per catch.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Brahmer was a three-star recruit out of Pierce (Neb) High, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He was the No. 3 overall prospect in the state, the No. 32 tight end in the class and the No. 600 overall prospect in the class.

Carson Hansen also intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, in addition Brahmer. The Iowa State changes come amid coach Matt Campbell leaving for Penn State.
Hansen played high school football at Lakeville (MN) Lakeville South, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 945 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Hansen wound up playing in 38 games at Iowa State, garnering 360 carries. He produced 1,769 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground with those touches. An additional two scores and 337 yards came out of the backfield as a pass catcher.
This past season was his best, coming just shy of 1,000 rushing yards. Hansen had to settle for a career-high 950 but saw his touchdown total dip all the way to six after previously getting 13.
