The Pittsburgh Steelers have released the team’s Christmas Day injury report ahead of Week 17’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Per the team’s Thursday release, Pro Bowl safety Jalen Ramsey was among three players as did not participate for the Steelers, while T.J. Watt remained limited for the second day in a row as he makes his way back from a lung issue.
Offensive tackle Troy Fautanu returned to practice in full Thursday, too, after missing Wednesday’s practice due to personal reasons.

It’s a similar report to yesterday’s. Watt continues to practice on a limited basis after returning Wednesday. It was his first session back since having surgery to repair a partially collapsed lung earlier this month. He’s missed the last two games and his status for Sunday remains uncertain, though he has a chance to play. Herbig also is moving closer towards playing, though like Watt, there’s no guarantee he suits up against Cleveland. He missed last Sunday with a hamstring injury.
Alex Highsmith and rookie Jack Sawyer started in Week 16 and would do so again if Watt and Herbig miss. Jeremiah Moon is the backup, playing 15 snaps in the win over the Detroit Lions.
Seumlao is also attempting to play after suffering a triceps injury that caused him to miss the Detroit Lions game. If he can’t get cleared, Spencer Anderson will earn his third start of the year. Seumalo was limited once again on Thursday.
Pierre has missed the last two contests with a calf injury. He returned for a limited session yesterday, but his status for this weekend hasn’t been determined. Asante SamuelJr. has started in his absence. Pittsburgh’s cornerback depth is thin.
Echols and Austin suffered in-game injuries versus Detroit. Jalen Ramsey shifted from safety to corner to replace him while Scotty Miller saw increased reps in Austin’s place.
Warren’s hip injury is considered minor and he is likely to play against Cleveland. However, if Pittsburgh has clinched the AFC North by virtue of the Baltimore Ravens losing or tying to the Green Bay Packers Saturday night, Warren’s reps could be highly managed.
Skowronek has battled a hand injury for weeks but hasn’t missed a game. Kuntz suffered a knee injury last week but did not miss the Lions game, though he had a self-admitted poor snap on a late field goal K Chris Boswell missed.
Pittsburgh and Cleveland kicks off Sunday at 1 PM/EST.
