Looking back on the 2025 NFL draft, many teams would likely make some different choices if they had the chance.

NFL draft expert Todd McShay reimagined how things would’ve played out in his 2025 NFL Redraft, and he kicked things off with a shocking selection when he had the Tennessee Titans use the No. 1 pick to draft quarterback Tyler Shough.

“Tell me why I’m wrong,” McShay said around the 6:00 mark. “Tracking to potentially be Offensive Rookie of the Year. Measurables, 6’4″, 220. Mobility, arm strength, off-schedule, on-schedule. … He’s won three straight, he’s led that Saints team, which has a bunch of backups to backups to backups. Spencer Rattler, who wasn’t playing horrifically at all times, showed some promise, was 1-7 as the starter. Tyler Shough, 4-3.”

Shough, who was drafted by the New Orleans Saints (5-10) in the second round, has played nine games this year with seven starts, throwing for 1,792 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions while also adding two rushing touchdowns. The 26-year-old is more mature than a typical rookie quarterback, and he’s shown the potential to be a reliable starter in the NFL.

The Titans used the No. 1 pick to select Cam Ward, who’s started all 15 games this season and thrown for 2,866 yards, 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Tennessee is 3-12 and could be in the running for the top pick in the 2026 draft as well.

For now, the Titans and Saints will have to be content with their selections as they try to climb out of the NFL’s basement.
