Jeff Driskel was signed by the Commanders, so the Cardinals brought in Logan Woodside for the practice squad.
The Arizona Cardinals had a change at quarterback this week.
Nothing changed with the active roster or injured reserve. Kyler Murray is on injured reserve, Jacoby Brissett is the starter and Kedon Slovis is the backup.
The change happened on the practice squad.
At the start of the week Jeff Driskel, who spent the last seven weeks on Arizona’s practice squad, was signed by the Washington Commanders to their active roster.
The Cardinals signed quarterback Logan Woodside to replace him, as the Cardinals prefer to have three quarterbacks for practice. Woodside is 30 years old and has been in the league since 2018 and has spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers.
He has played in 13 games in his career and has seven career passing attempts.
In addition to the addition of Woodside, safety Patrick McMorris was released from the practice squad.
The Cardinals only have 16 on their practice squad, including one international exemption, one short of the 17-man limit. The Cardinals are at the full roster limit of 90 players allowed between the active roster, practice squad and reserve lists.
