LANDOVER, MD – Dak Prescott walked into the postgame press conference room following the Cowboys’ 30-23 win over the Commanders on Christmas Day with a hoodie that read, “Wake Up Happy.” After taking six sacks and 11 quarterback hits, that won’t be the only feeling that Prescott wakes up with.
“I’ll wake up happy for sure, but I’ll probably wake up a little sore too.” Prescott said.
Even still battered and bruised with a 7-8-1 record in tow and being eliminated from the playoffs, there’s no doubt in Prescott’s mind that he wants to, and expects to, play in the Cowboys’ season finale next week against the Giants.
“For sure, no question,” Prescott said when asked if he wanted to play up next week. “I love this game, I love any opportunity that I get to play it. That being said, if I get to go out there, I’m going to give it my best, prepare the same way, I’m going to be the same player that you guys know. I understand, the reasons why maybe not, and if I’m approached with that, I’ll handle that then…”
“In my mind, any conversations I’ve had to Schotty or anybody about it would be I’m playing.”
