Before the 2025 season, one of the biggest storylines within the NFL was surrounding Myles Garrett and whether or not he would be in Cleveland. Since being drafted by the Browns in 2017, Garrett has become one of the best forces to be reckoned with in the league.

His rookie season was his only year where he didn’t get double digit sacks, yet he still had seven. As a four-time All-Pro player, Garrett is arguably the NFL’s best defensive player ahead of guys like T.J. Watt and Micah Parson. However, Garrett has only been to the playoffs twice (no further than the divisional round) which means that he hasn’t had a lot of playoff success.

Garrett had requested a trade out of Cleveland, with the focus of winning, something that he didn’t have a lot of with the Browns. A lot of Bills fans were hoping that Brandon Beane would pull off a blockbuster trade to bring Garrett to Buffalo. However, instead of Garrett sticking to his ground about requesting a trade, he signed a four-year $160 million deal to give him $40 million per year. He was offered quarterback money at the time and now he is still in Cleveland, who continues to lose.

This season, while the Browns have once again been a laughing disappointment, Garrett is just one sack away from setting the new sack record by a player in a season. The sad part is that if Garrett can accomplish it, it will be the only great thing that the Browns have done this season.

I’m sure that a lot of fans would love to see what Garrett can do for a team that isn’t Cleveland. Imagine a world where Garrett would put up this kind of production as a member of the Bills? Buffalo might nearly be unstoppable.

Even though Garrett ultimately didn’t get traded, it’s a good thing that he didn’t get traded to a team that has all of a sudden become Buffalo’s biggest enemy once again in the AFC East.

Bills fans are super excited that dream scenario involving Myles Garrett didn’t come true

Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report recently put together a list of NFL players that people wished that these players were on a different team in 2025, and Garrett of course was on this list, but Knox had Garrett listed to the New England Patriots. Or should I say the team that is more than likely about to dethrone the Bills in the AFC East.

“We could have picked just about competitive team here, but the New England Patriots would have made perfect sense. They took an aggressive approach to the offseason, adding the likes of Milton Williams, K’Lavon Chaisson and Stefon Diggs in free agency. Going after Garrett would have followed the offseason plan.”

New England completely turned things around in Mike Vrabel’s first year as head coach. They were aggressive in free agency and the draft which really helped Drake Maye exceed expectations in his second year.

Could you imagine what the Patriots would have been like if they had landed Garrett, too? That would be an ultimate nightmare for Bills fans.
