A new article from the Baltimore Sun on Lamar Jackson has gotten the two-time MVP called out by members of the media.

In one passage in the article, a source accused Jackson of staying up late at night playing video games and falling asleep during meetings. He was also advised to attend more training events with the team rather than only attending mandatory minicamps.

“The breakdown of an NFL player’s body is natural, but Jackson could help himself. He doesn’t need to be up late at night playing video games or falling asleep in in team meetings,” someone in the article claimed.

That passage was particularly offensive to Andrew Fillipponi of Pittsburgh’s 93.7 The Fan, who admonished him for his lack of postseason success.

“Incredible Baltimore Sun article on Lamar Jackson. Claims he stays up late playing video games. And falls asleep in meetings. He’s 3-5 in the playoffs. With 7 interceptions. And 7 fumbles. He’s never winning a Super Bowl,” Fillipponi wrote in response.

What about…?

Fans didn’t like that argument, pointing out that plenty of other QBs do everything right and still don’t win the Super Bowl:

“How many Super Bowls has Josh Allen won or played in? I must have lost count all the times I’ve been there the last seven year,” one user remarked.

“So let’s unpack this… the Steelers winning streak is against: A busted Ravens team where Lamar is checked out, a terrible Dolphins team, and broken Lions team that just lost against an awful Vikings team with barely 50 passing yards. Yeah. Playoff win locked,” another mocked.

“What’s the Steelers record in the playoffs since Lamar was drafted, since you’re interested in playoff records all of a sudden,” a third wrote.

“Yall haven’t won a playoff game in 12 years btw.”

The Ravens are not officially eliminated from the playoffs yet but their playoff destiny is out of their hands now. They need to win out but also hope that the Pittsburgh Steelers lose in Week 17 in order to have a chance at playing in the postseason.

But if the rumors are true, the Ravens could have bigger problems than the 2025-26 playoffs.
