The NFL’s Christmas Day lineup is lacking serious holiday magic this year
Christmas Day 2025 is already looking like a bust for the NFL due to injuries and teams already eliminated from playoff contention.
It’s always important to save those return receipts.
No one wants to return a gift, but sometimes circumstances make it necessary. In the case of the NFL’s Week 17 slate, Peacock might be wondering what the NFL’s return policy looks like.
They have the exclusive rights to the game that will see the Green Bay Packers host the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, Dec. 27. In the offseason, this looked like a slam-dunk matchup littered with stars and playoff implications. After 16 weeks of NFL action, it’s a reminder of just how fast things can change.
Like that shirt you’re returning that no longer fits, this game is no longer between a pair of Super Bowl favorites.
Jordan Love and Lamar Jackson both suffered injuries in Week 16, meaning Lambeau Field might be in for a battle of the backups. Micah Parsons is out for the season with a torn ACL and Baltimore would miss the playoffs entirely with a loss on the frozen tundra.
At least Josh Jacobs and Derrick Henry are still prepared to play. Regardless, there’s still plenty on the line, but how much do these teams have left to give at this stage? We’ll find out soon enough.
