The Cincinnati Bengals are entering a Week 17 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in which both teams are eliminated from playoff contention. But, for the Bengals, finishing out the year strong can help make the 2026 season look a lot more hopeful.

One of the top ways to make this season have a good end is by blowing out their opponent, just like they did a week prior against the Miami Dolphins.

Coming into this matchup, as Mike Petraglia of CLNSCincy.com shared, Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase shared a goal for Week 17. He’s aiming to end a surprising drought, as the Bengals superstar WR is simply looking to score a touchdown.

“I think the biggest thing on the list is to score another touchdown,” Chase said. “I think I’ve been overdue since Week 7.”

Chase’s goal for Week 17 is a simple one, but for him, who has just five touchdowns all season long, it’s a reasonable goal to strive for.

His last score came all of the way back on Thursday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers with Joe Flacco at quarterback. He went 16 for 161 and a touchdown on October 16th, over two months ago.

Joe Burrow has been throwing the ball Chase’s way often this season, but they’ve yet to connect on a touchdown this season since his Week 2 touchdown in the first quarter.

While the Bengals are 5-10 and don’t have much to play for this season, Chase has a clear goal, and with a matchup against a leaky Cardinals secondary, Chase can reach this goal.

Chase has a strong history against the Cardinals, recording 15 receptions for 192 yards and three touchdowns the last time he went up against Arizona’s football team.

This Sunday afternoon game should be interesting, as there’s bound to be plenty of offense to go around in this matchup. In front of the home Cincinnati crowd, Chase could finally score a touchdown after eight weeks without a score.
