Up next for the Jacksonville Jaguars is a road matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

These two teams met just a few weeks ago, with the Jaguars winning that matchup.

Earlier this week, Colts’ head coach Shane Steichen discussed the challenge of facing Trevor Lawrence and this Jaguars’ offense.

“I think they’re doing a great job,” Steichen said of the Jaguars’ offense. “A good balanced attack offensively what they’re doing. Putting him in good positions, guys are making plays for him, he’s making good decisions with the football. Creating with his legs too outside the pocket. Creating some explosive as well. So like I said, it’ll be a hell of a challenge. Obviously, we know that, they’re playing at a high rate right now.”

For roughly a month now, Lawrence has been operating at a very high level, and with that, so has the Jaguars’ offense.

Among all quarterbacks since Week 13, Lawrence ranks fifth in passing yards, second in yards per pass attempt, and first in passing touchdowns. He also has zero turnover-worthy passes, according to PFF.

As the numbers illustrate, Lawrence has taken care of the football, he’s been efficient, and has produced numerous explosive plays. As Steichen mentions, Lawrence has also made plays with his legs.

The Jaguars are currently riding a six-game winning streak heading into Week 17. The run game hasn’t been able to consistently get going as of late, so Lawrence and the passing game have often shouldered the workload for the offense.

In five of the Jaguars’ last eight games, the offense has eclipsed the 30-point mark.

The Colts’ defense will enter Sunday’s game ranking 18th in points per game allowed, third in yards per rush, and 19th in yards per pass attempt. Their red zone defense ranks 10th as well.
