The NFL could’ve flexed the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers to one of these national television slots on Saturday, but opted to keep them in the 10 am PT slot on Sunday. Oh well, what are the other two games in their place?
We start off with NFL Network at 1:30 pm PT. The Houston Texans started 0-3 and now find themselves at 10-5 with an outside shot at winning the AFC South. They’re almost certainly in the playoffs barring a stunning collapse. The Los Angeles Chargers are 11-4 despite Justin Herbert playing behind an increasingly injured offensive line. If the Chargers win then the AFC West title is at stake in Week 18 when LAC plays the Denver Broncos. A Houston win eliminates the Indianapolis Colts from playoff contention.
At 5 pm PT on Peacock, the 7-8 Baltimore Ravens must beat the Green Bay Packers or else their season is over. Lamar Jackson is banged up and will not play, so Tyler Huntley is tasked with saving the season (for at least another 24 hours). Green Bay is already in the playoffs thanks to the Detroit Lions losing on Thursday, so they don’t need to start the injured Jordan Love or Malik Willis. They still have an outside shot at the NFC North title, so maybe they won’t phone it in.
