The Buffalo Bills made some roster moves ahead of their Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles and one of them included cutting ties with a veteran wideout.
According to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg, the Bills have released wide receiver Mecole Hardman.
In addition to that move, Buffalo signed tight end Keleki Latu to the active roster and elevated kicker Michael Badgley and defensive end Andre Jones Jr. from the practice squad.
Hardman was signed by the Bills back in November with the team having countless struggles at the wide receiver position, but it wasn’t long before he landed on injured reserve.
Hardman was activated earlier this month but did not record a single catch over the two games he appeared in and only saw one target.
The veteran wideout did most of his work on special teams, where he returned two punts for four yards and one kickoff for 61 yards.
The elevation of Latu suggests the Bills expect one of their tight ends, Dalton Kincaid or Dawson Knox to sit out. Both players are listed as questionable.
Badgley’s elevation comes after the Bills ruled kicker Matt Prater out for the second straight week.
