It may the end of the regular fantasy football season, but I will continue The DFS Must Starts all the way through the NFL Championship games.
My plays have been a little rut the last couple of weeks as it comes down to me putting the correct group of players together.
But I love this time of year with the multiple slates to play, including the playoffs.
Let’s get into the plays for the DraftKings Week 17 Main Slate!
QB DFS Must Starts
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville ($6,100, 14.6 percent rostered)
Might as well play the hottest quarterback in DFS after Lawrence has accounted for 10 total touchdowns in his last two games.
Indianapolis is a middle of the defense against QB scoring on DK this year, but it is coming off a game where San Francisco’s Brock Purdy torched them for 31.9 DK points.
Lawrence had 19.4 DK points against the Colts in the Jaguars’ Week 14 36-19 victory. And Jacksonville needs to continue their winning ways to hold off Houston for the AFC South Division title.
Chalky Play: Drake Maye, New England ($6,800, 12.9 percent rostered)
Value Play: Geno Smith, Las Vegas ($4,400, 6.3 percent rostered)
RB DFS Must Starts
Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis ($7,800, 29.4 percent rostered)
Yes, I know I’ve been a Debbie Downer on Taylor for the second half of the season, but there is one thing he loves – playing against the Jaguars at home late in the season.
Taylor has averaged 182 rushing yards and 1.3 TDs a game in his last three home games playing against Jacksonville.
The Jaguars have shut down running games this season, but the Colts have not been eliminated yet from the playoffs and a win is needed to keep those slim hopes alive. Taylor could be the right remedy for a win and a big DFS payday for us.
Chalky Play: Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas ($6,100, 45.9 percent rostered)
Value Play: Tyrone Tracy, NY Giants ($5,400, 12.9 percent rostered)
WR DFS Must Starts
Jakobi Meyers, Jacksonville ($5,300, 20.1 percent rostered)
Since his midseason trade from Las Vegas, Meyers has been the go-to receiver for Jaguars
Meyers has seen 6.6 targets a game since Week 10 and he’s averaging 12.9 DK points during that span.
In his last game against the Colts, he saw 10 targets but only had 4 catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Plus he leads the Jaguars in end zone targets since coming over midseason – he has 10 targets for a 12.8 end zone target share.
Chalky Play: Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati ($8,300, 25.4 percent rostered)
Value Play: Kyle Williams, New England ($3,300, 14.3 percent rostered)
TE DFS Must Starts
Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland ($5,000, 7.9 percent rostered)
Fannin Jr. comes into the game with a questionable tag with a groin injury late in the week, but he says he plans to play and said it was precautionary injury tag.
Fannin Jr. has averaged 16.1 DK points since Shedeur Sanders took over the starting quarterback in Week 12. And Fannin Jr. has averaged 7 targets a game during that span.
Plus, Pittsburgh is a bottom 3 defense against TE scoring on DK. The Steelers have allowed 17.4 DK points a game, 97 receptions and 10 TDs to TEs this season.
Chalky Play: Trey McBride, Arizona ($7,500, 20.3 percent rostered)
Value Play: Michael Mayer, Las Vegas ($2,500, 9.1 percent rostered)
DST DFS Must Starts
Cleveland ($2,500, 15.8 percent rostered) home against Pittsburgh ($3,300, 14 percent rostered)
New England ($3,900, 6.2 percent rostered) at NY Jets
