Tyler Steen said early in the week he knew a fine was coming his way and the details arrived Saturday afternoon.

The NFL, in fact, fined the Eagles offensive guard twice for his part in the fight that took place last Saturday night during the team’s game with the Washington Commanders in Northwest Stadium.

“I don’t know the specific amount yet, but I know the (fine) is coming for sure,” Steen said Tuesday. “I definitely will try to appeal it.”

Steen was fined the identical amounts of $8,435 for unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing) and unsportsmanlike conduct (swung).

Steen, however, was happy to find out he had not suspended.

“I was definitely relieved and excited that I’m going to be able to go out there and play Sunday (at Buffalo),” Steen said.

Two Washington players (Javon Kinlaw and Quan Martin) were also ejected from Saturday’s game and fined for the altercation. The Commanders, in fact, had four players fined for the altercation.

Kinlaw received the harshest punishment at $20,288 for throwing a punch while Martin was tagged with an $11,752 fine.

The fight started with a facemask by Washington safety Will Harris as he was being blocked by Eagles wide receiver Darius Cooper during a successful two-point conversion run by Saquon Barkley with 4:26 left in the game. Harris was fined $11,593 for the facemask. Cooper managed to avoid being fined.

The final Washington player to be fined was defensive back Mike Sainristil, who was involved in the altercation with Steen. The league tagged Sainristil with a $9,725 fine.

The teams will play again in Week 18 at Philadelphia.
