The good news for the Bills, and not such great news for the Eagles, is that star quarterback Josh Allen will be available for the contest after some initial doubt.

Josh Allen will play in Week 17 vs. Eagles

Allen suffered an apparent foot injury against the Cleveland Browns in Week 16, though initial x-rays were negative and he didn’t miss any time in the game. Still, there was some speculation about his status heading into the game against Philadelphia, but the NFL’s reigning MVP improved over the course of the week, and he’ll be good to go on Sunday.

“Should be good to go,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said of Allen Friday. “Yeah, the soreness is kind of dissipated day to day as we move through the week here. So he should be in a good spot.”

Given the importance of the contest, there was probably little doubt within Buffalo’s locker room that Allen would play. Plus, Allen wouldn’t want to miss an opportunity to try to beat the only team that he’s never defeated in his career.

Other than the Bills, Allen has at least one win against ever other team in the league as a starting quarterback, except the Eagles. He holds an 0-2 record against Philadelphia.

The Eagles and Bills last met in November of 2023 and Philadelphia pulled out a thrilling 37-34 victory in overtime. Hopefully the upcoming matchup between the teams is equally as entertaining.
