The New Orleans Saints (5-10) travel to Nashville to play the Tennessee Titans (3-12) in the Titans’ home finale. Both teams have had turbulent seasons, but they are entering the offseason with what they believe are the long-term answers at quarterback. These teams will duel it out with rookie quarterback development first and foremost. Catch it at noon CST/1 p.m. EST on CBS.
Titans increased PPG over the last 3 games
The Titans have hit their stride on offense over the last three games. Over that time period, the Titans have averaged 27 points per game. In the opening 12 games, they averaged 14.2 points per game. You don’t have to be a statistician to see such a massive difference. This team finally flipped the switch, and the offense is now red hot compared to the majority of the season. The gelling of the offensive line is the point at which this team’s big jump in offensive production occurs.

Saints Rushing defense
The Saints currently rank 23rd in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game. Combined with the Titans’ recent rushing success, the Titans should plan to attack the Saints’ defense on the ground first. With Bryan Bresee ruled out and an aging Cameron Jordan, this hot offensive line should have no issue moving this Saints defensive line and creating gaps for the running back room. It is feasible that Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard combine for at least 150 rushing yards.
Saints Pass blocking
The Saints’ offensive line and Tyler Shough have combined for an average of 3.7 sacks allowed per game over the last three games. This is tied for second-to-last in the NFL over that period. The Titans have been hovering near the middle of the NFL in sacks generated over this time period. Jeffery Simmons should have a good matchup to get after Shough or even open other opportunities for the rest of the defensive line.
