The AFC North title race could reach a dramatic conclusion this Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-6) travel to Huntington Bank Field to face the rival Cleveland Browns (3-12).

Following a crucial Week 16 win over the Detroit Lions and a loss by the Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers are firmly in the driver’s seat and have multiple paths to securing the division crown. A victory over the Browns would clinch the AFC North title and a home playoff game for Mike Tomlin’s squad. Pittsburgh is riding a three-game winning streak and looking to complete the season sweep of the Browns, whom it defeated 23-9 in Week 6.

While the Browns won’t be going to the playoffs, this Week 17 contest is far from a dead rubber. For Cleveland, this game is about playing spoiler against its most hated rival and providing a spark of excitement for a frustrated fanbase, particularly with defensive star Myles Garrett closing in on the NFL’s all-time single-season sack record.

The rivalry atmosphere, coupled with the Browns trotting out rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders for his first start against Pittsburgh, ensures that the Steelers will face a desperate opponent looking to make a statement — and potentially help their other division foes, the Ravens, keep the AFC North race alive until Week 18.
