Golden began his college career at Houston, where he scored at least five touchdowns in each of his two seasons. He transferred to Texas in 2024 and delivered a standout season, recording nearly 1,000 receiving yards and nine touchdowns to lead the SEC.
Golden is the first wide receiver the Packers have taken in the first round since 2002, when they selected Javon Walker. His selection was one of the most memorable moments of the night, as thousands of fans in Green Bay erupted in “Go Pack Go” chants when he emerged from the green room.
