With their final pick on day two of the 2025 NFL draft and the 90th overall selection, the Los Angeles Rams added Michigan edge rusher Josaiah Stewart. Pending a trade up from 127th overall, it will be the final pick for the Rams on day two.

On the Rams

Heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams needed some depth at edge rusher. They lost Michael Hoecht in free agency and needed some depth at the position. Stewart provides just that as someone who had 8.5 sacks last season for the Wolverines.

Stewart started his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina before transferring to Michigan as a junior. Over the last two years with the Wolverines, Stewart had 14 sacks combined with 8.5 of those coming in 2024.

Again, the Rams needed some depth at edge rusher. They lost Hoecht in free agency and Nick Hampton hasn’t proven a lot in two years as a fifth round pick in 2023. Stewart has a light frame, but his motor runs hot. He is also a smart player with the ability to play in space.

When do the Rams pick next?

The Rams next pick at 127 pending a trade up. With their first two picks, they have addressed the tight end and edge rusher position. With six picks remaining on day three of the draft, the Rams will be looking to address needs at linebacker, cornerback, and potentially wide receiver. General manager Les Snead has found success in recent years on day three and will be looking to replicate that on Saturday.
