It’s hard to imagine many college football teams doing a better job at that than Joey McGuire’s done at Texas Tech these past few months.
Coach McGuire dove into the transfer portal hard and came back with some whoppers! Texas Tech nabbed a half dozen four-star recruits and by comparison, that was more than the rest of the Big 12 teams combined.
Coach McGuire was in San Antonio recently for Texas Tech grads and fans and to also show his support for Gridiron Heroes, the spinal cord foundation. McGuire spoke on a myriad of topics, including the two defensive linemen he brought in that have a chance to become high NFL draft picks, and why he’s “all in” for 2025, after coming off an 8 win season with one of the worst defensive teams in the country.
