The Tennessee Titans saw their already thin secondary take another significant hit in their Week 17 loss to the New Orleans Saints when cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis was injured and carted off the field during the first half of the contest. Unfortunately, their worst fears may come to life.

Multiple reports on social media indicate that the Titans believe that Armour-Davis tore his Achilles tendon in the loss and will miss the rest of the season.

This is a significant setback for Armour-Davis heading into the offseason, when he is set to become an unrestricted free agent and will now have to not only face rehab but also the uncertainty that comes with being on the open market.

The Titans acquired the cornerback early in the season, and he worked his way into the starting lineup, flashing both athleticism and physicality in the secondary, before first injuring his Achilles earlier in the season. He returned in Week 16 and looked good, but this new injury now adds an air of uncertainty to the Titans’ secondary in both Week 18 and the future.

Tennessee will enter the offseason with some major questions at cornerback. Rookie cornerback Marcus Harris had a solid season, but he is still more potential than experience, and he will likely enter as one of the top three corners on the roster. Behind him, it is a mess.

With Armour-Davis injured and a question mark, Tennessee will have to make a run at re-signing Darrell Baker Jr. as an unrestricted free agent heading into the offseason to bring back someone with starting experience. They do still have veteran L’Jarius Sneed. But he has been a complete bust since joining the Titans in 2024 and could become a salary-cap casualty after ending his second season in Nashville on injured reserve.

The organization will likely release more details on this injury during Mike McCoy’s press availability on Monday.
