For the Pittsburgh Steelers, Week 17 was a disaster. A Baltimore Ravens win and Steelers loss. For the NFL, it played out perfectly. With the AFC North hanging in the balance for both teams, the Steelers and Ravens will decide their fates in the league’s final game of the regular season. The league’s 272nd game of 2025 will feature Pittsburgh and Baltimore on Sunday night, the league announced following tonight’s SNF game.
The game will kickoff Sunday night at 8:20 PM/EST at Acrisure Stadium. Coverage will begin at 7 PM/EST.
It comes as no surprise. With most of the NFL’s playoff spots locked up little intrigue elsewhere, Steelers versus Ravens for all the marbles is an easy draw. The winner of the game will capture the AFC North and the No. 4 seed. The loser will go home. For both teams, there’s no other postseason path.
Baltimore held up their end of the bargain to get here. With starter Lamar Jackson out with a back injury, the Ravens rushed for more than 300 yards in Saturday’s 41-24 win against the Green Bay Packers. Henry himself rushed for 216 yards on a career-high 36 carries and four touchdowns. Jackson’s status for Week 18 is unclear, though NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Sunday morning that Jackson “could” return for the game.
Pittsburgh squandered a chance to lock up the AFC North with a 13-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns Sunday. The offense struggled to move the ball, managing only a pair of Chris Boswell field goals all game.
Pittsburgh will be without WR DK Metcalf, who is serving a two-game suspension after getting into an altercation with a Detroit Lions fan last weekend. EDGE T.J. Watt’s status is unknown with mixed reporting on his outlook. Missing three games after surgery on his lung, Watt returned to practice in limited fashion this week but was ruled out for Week 17. Mike Tomlin said Watt must practice fully in order to play.
TE Darnell Washington is also expected to miss after breaking his arm during the Browns game.
By virtue of playing a day earlier, the Ravens will have an extra day of rest compared to the Steelers.
In their first meeting, the Steelers scored an upset 27-22 win over the Ravens in Week 14. Baltimore still rushed for 217 yards but Pittsburgh protected the football and worked the vertical passing game for its big plays. The Steelers themselves ran for just 34 yards, their fewest in a win over the Ravens in the rivalry’s history. It sets up for a photo finish the entire football world will be watching come Sunday night.
