The 49ers are in a prime position to secure the NFC’s No. 1 playoff seed and NFC West title with one game remaining during the 2025 NFL regular season.
San Francisco (12-4) did its job on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” as star quarterback Brock Purdy had his second consecutive five-touchdown outing in a thrilling 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears (11-5) at Levi’s Stadium.
The 49ers admirably have thrived without All-Pro defenders Fred Warner and Nick Bosa, among other key players, for much of the year. And now, San Francisco can secure the NFC’s top seed, division title and home-field advantage for the entire playoffs — which would include a potential Super Bowl LX appearance — with a Week 18 win over the Seattle Seahawks (13-3).
The 49ers and Seahawks will play for all the marbles at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Levi’s Stadium. San Francisco won the Week 1 matchup, 17-13, at Lumen Field.
Here’s where the NFC playoff picture stands following an exhilarating Week 17:
