In the Arizona Cardinals‘ 37-14 loss to the Cincinnati Falcons Sunday, 18 players participated in at least one of the 57 offensive snaps.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett and all five offensive line starters left tackle Josh Fryar, left guard Jon Gaines II, center Hjalte Froholdt, right guard Isaiah Adams and right tackle Kelvin Beachum played every snap. Tight end Trey McBride played all but two and wide receiver Michael Wilson missed eight.

How was the playing time divided up? Below are individual snap counts for every player who got in the game offensively, grouped by position.

The first number after each name is snaps and the second is the percentage. Players in bold were starters.

Arizona Cardinals Week 17 offensive snap counts: Quarterbacks

Active, did not play: Kedon Slovis

Reserve/injured (eligible for return, but won’t): Kyler Murray

Brissett’s final numbers looked better than they were thanks to two fourth-quarter possessions that began with the Cardinals trailing 37-7. Until then, he had completed 6 of 16 passes for 74 yards. In the two drives, one that ended with an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Trey McBride, Brissett was 15-for-21 for 138 yards to finish the day 21 of 37 for 212 yards and four sacks. Of the 15 completions, six were for five yards or fewer.

Running backs

Emari Demercado (30/53), Michael Carter (25/44), Corey Kiner (2/4)

Reserve/injured: Trey Benson, James Conner, (eligible to return, but won’t), Bam Knight

Before those last two possessions, Carter had rushed for 12 yards on five attempts. Runs of six and 11 yards boosted his total to 29 yards on seven carries. The 29 yards gives him a team-leading 315 for the season, which is 41 short of the lowest team-leading total in Arizona Cardinals history by LaRod Stephens-Howling in 2012. Carter had two receptions for 14 yards. Demercado rushed for 11 yards on five carries and Corey Kiner had one run for two yards. Demercado caught two passes for nine yards.

Wide receivers

Michael Wilson (49/86), Xavier Weaver (38/67), Marvin Harrison Jr. (19/33), Jalen Brooks (17/30), Steven Sims (3/5)

Reserve/injured: Andre Baccellia, Greg Dortch (eligible to return), Simi Fehoko (eligible to return), Zay Jones (eligible to return, but won’t)

Wilson was targeted 10 times and caught five for 89 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown when it was still a competition in the second quarter. Weaver had two catches for 24 yards and that was it for the wide receivers. Harrison probably shouldn’t have played even though head coach Jonathan Gannon insisted he was healthy. He didn’t catch his one target on the 19 snaps he played and left the game because of the heel injury that has affected him for the last four games, two of which he missed.

Tight ends

Trey McBride (55/96), Elijah Higgins (34/60), Josiah Deguara (10/18)

Reserve/injured: Tip Reiman, Travis Vokolek (both eligible to return, but won’t)

McBride was able to enter the record books with the most single-season receptions (119) by a tight end in NFL history, surpassing Zach Ertz (116). McBride also passed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (115 in 2020) for the most by a Cardinals player in a season. McBride had 10 receptions on 13 targets in the game for 76 yards and he was able to break the records during those final two possessions. Until then he was 3-for-19 and had seven for 57 yards in the final quarter.

Higgins did not catch his one target.

Offensive linemen

LT Josh Fryar (57/100), LG Jon Gaines II (57/100), C Hjalte Froholdt (57/100), RG Isaiah Adams (57/100), RT Kelvin Beachum (57/100), LT Demontrey Jacobs (3/5)

Inactive: G Evan Brown (personal)

Active/did not play (except for special teams): C/G Hayden Conner, T Christian Jones

Reserve/injured: RG Will Hernandez (eligible to return), LT Paris Johnson Jr., RT Jonah Williams (eligible to return, but won’t), Valentin Senn

This was Adams’ 10th start of the season, Gaines’ fourth and Fryar’s third. Adams started five games last season, so those three current starters now have 22 starts in their NFL careers. Brown missed his fourth game while dealing with a family issue.
