The Pittsburgh Steelers are making a practice squad shakeup to start their week before a critical Week 18 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
They have re-signed defensive tackle Kyler Baugh after releasing him last week. To make room, the Steelers have cut Daryl Porter Jr., who made his NFL debut a week ago against the Detroit Lions.
Porter signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft, but they cut him during training camp, giving the Steelers the chance to scoop up Porter.
Porter’s father, Daryl Porter Sr., was drafted by the Steelers in the 1997 NFL Draft and had two different stints with the team over his six-year NFL career. He did not play a game for the Steelers but played three seasons for the Bills.
Baugh is a second year player who spent time on the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad in December of 2024. He never played in a game, though, and the Steelers brought him in as relief for some injuries.
Baugh most recently played with the St. Louis Battlehawks of the UFL, playing in four games and posting one sack and two tackles for loss.
Over his years with the Golden Gophers, Baugh played in 26 games with four sacks. He added four pass deflections and a forced fumble over his college career.
