The Rams need a get-right game before the playoffs begin
Sean McVay left no doubt about whether the Los Angeles Rams will play their starters in the season finale next week. After Monday night’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, he made it clear that his top players need to play against the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday.
With the Rams planning to play their starters, they opened as comfortable favorites over Arizona in Week 18. According to BetMGM, the Rams are 7.5-point favorites at home. That spread feels a little small, but perhaps the books are baking in some insurance just in case McVay changes his mind and rests his starters if the game becomes meaningless.
The over/under is 46.5 points and the Rams are -375 on the money line.
Los Angeles faced the Cardinals in Week 14 following its loss to the Carolina Panthers and took out its frustration in a 45-17 win on the road. The Rams need that sort of bounce-back game next week before the playoffs start, which is why McVay wants to see his starters on the field one more time.
The Rams failed to cover the spread as 8-point favorites against the Falcons on Monday night but next week’s game against Arizona shouldn’t be as close if the Rams play the way they’re capable of playing.
