“Aside from missing the playoffs, the New Orleans Saints have to be pleased with how their 2025 campaign has unfolded. They’ve won four straight and appear to be forging a real identity under rookie head coach Kellen Moore.

Just as importantly, New Orleans has seen considerable growth from quarterback Tyler Shough. The rookie has repeatedly shown signs that he can be the long-term answer that the Saints have lacked since Drew Brees’ retirement.

Shough has now thrown for 300-plus yards in back-to-back games, and he largely outplayed No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward in New Orleans’ latest victory. The Saints have to feel good about their chances of competing in the NFC South next season. — Knox”
