-Tight end Chig Okonkwo is in the final year of his rookie contract.
In March, his contract will expire.
Sure, Okonkwo has thought about these things, and more.
“Yeah, I’ve thought about that,” Okonkwo said. “This could be the last time (in a Titans uniform), and it could have been the last time I played at Nissan (Stadium) on Sunday.
“It’s definitely things you think about with the season ending, for sure.”
Okonkwo, who a fourth-round pick of the Titans in the 2022 NFL Draft, has also thought about this:
“I want to be here,” he said. “My agents know that, so we’ll see how it all plays out.”
Okonkwo has 54 catches for 558 yards on the season, with two touchdowns.
This past Sunday he recorded three catches for 55 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Okonkwo said on Wednesday he’s hopeful to be a part of a turnaround in Tennessee in the future.
“I definitely would want to be a part of the core people that watched this place grow, from where we’re at now to a winning organization” Okonkwo said. “I definitely want to be a part of that. I believe in the vision, the things going on. I believe in Cam. I think it would be a great place for me to be in the future.”
