Falcons’ Robinson earns NFC offensive player of the week after career performance vs. Rams

  • January 1, 2026

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson put on a show in his latest “Monday Night Football” appearance, earning NFC offensive player of the week honors for the second time this season.

Robinson rushed for 195 yards, highlighted by a 93-yard touchdown run — the longest in franchise history — in a 27-24 victory that marked the team’s third straight win after being eliminated from postseason contention. He also surpassed 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey for the most scrimmage yards by a player before turning 24, finishing with 5,605.

Robinson also earned the honor after Atlanta’s Week 6 upset of the Buffalo Bills, rushing for 170 yards and a touchdown while also adding six receptions for 68 yards.

Robinson’s career-high 195 yards was the most by a Falcon in a single game since Michael Turner ran for 208 yards in 2008. He also became the Falcons’ all-time record holder for scrimmage yards in a single season.

With one game left in the 2025 campaign, Robinson sits at 2,255 scrimmage yards — 1,445 on the ground and 810 as a receiver.

The Falcons host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday to close out the season. New Orleans enters the matchup riding a four-game winning streak, and rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has quickly emerged as the starter, surging to the top of the NFC offensive rookie of the year odds.

Kickoff for Falcons-Saints is 1 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
