The 2025 season has not gone well for the Washington Commanders, and can really be summed up by their loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Day. That day, they fought alongside Josh Johnson and gave it everything they had, but it just wasn’t enough to overcome the Cowboys’ offense.
The next day, though, offensive lineman Sami Cosmi would give the team a morale boost by announcing the birth of his second child.
When asked if he was sleeping, Cosmi says, “No, not at all! I think the most I’ve gotten is four hours. But, you know, I think my body’s getting used to that, which is fine. That’s to be expected.”
Cosmi reports that his wife, Blair, is doing well. Her water broke around 7:30 p.m. on Christmas Day, and she delivered a healthy baby at 1:46 a.m. on December 26. She was originally scheduled to be induced on Monday, but the baby had other ideas, and the Cosmis welcomed Tate Nicholas a tad earlier than planned.
No matter how much you plan during a pregnancy, that baby is ultimately the one in charge. Scheduled delivery is a cute idea, but we never know when the baby has their own agenda! And it doesn’t change once the baby is born; they’re 100% in charge from the time of conception. Until forever. If you’re a parent, you know.
Congratulations to the Cosmis on their newest addition!
