The Green Bay Packers have made an addition to their secondary just before the regular-season finale and the playoffs by claiming former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs off of waivers, according to ESPN senior insider Adam Schefter.The Cowboys released Diggs on Dec. 30. According to ESPN sources, the decision for Dallas to move on from Diggs was due to a “culmination of events, including performance.” Diggs led the league in interceptions (11) in 2021 and earned his only All-Pro selection in 2021.Diggs signed a five-year, $97 million contract extension in 2023, but he has played in just 21 games over the past two seasons because of knee injuries. Diggs tore his left ACL in practice in 2023. He missed six games last year because of an issue that required a chondral graft in the same knee in January. In 2025, he missed eight games with a right knee issue and suffered a concussion from an at-home accident. Diggs would later disclose that he was attempting to install a television mount.Diggs and Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons were teammates in Dallas since 2020.
