No position receives more hype during the NFL draft than quarterback. Unfortunately, a rookie quarterback’s career can be significantly impacted by the team that selects him and what surrounds him on the offensive side of the ball.
This year, 13 quarterbacks were taken during the draft, with 12 landing in different cities. While some are destined to be career backups or even longshots to make their teams, others like Tennessee Titans’ Cam Ward should walk into starting roles early in their tenure.

Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently investigated each city where those 13 quarterbacks will play and determined which quarterbacks landed in the best situation for their success. Here’s where he ranked Ward and the Titans.
3. Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Cam Ward’s immediate path to a starting role in Tennessee justifies his spot near the top of the list. While the Titans’ receiving corps is thin, the team has invested heavily in the offensive line and boasts a capable backfield with Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. Calvin Ridley, who topped 1,000 yards with a 74.7 receiving grade in 2024, gives Ward at least one proven target to lean on as he adjusts to the pro level.
The wide receivers will be the most significant question mark heading into training camp and the season. Ridley will be the number one, and they brought in veterans Van Jefferson and Tyler Lockett, but most of the roster is unproven behind those three. Tennessee does have the potential to put a dynamic offense on the field, but that will depend on the progress of the talented young wide receivers they brought in.
