Bill Croskey-Merritt has won his 4th Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week award for his strong performance, featuring a 72-yard touchdown run, against the Cowboys this past Sunday. Fan voting has lifted a number of Commanders to wins over the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Jayden Daniels won the award 11 times last season, with Mikey Sainristil taking the honors in Week 18. This year, Bill has a total of 4 wins while teammate Jaylin Lane won in Week 3 when he produced his first NFL touchdown on a punt return.
The Commanders have one last chance to make it to 6 awards for the 2025 season (and 18 over two seasons) when they travel to Philly to take on the Eagles on Sunday afternoon to close out a challenging season.
This week, Commanders running back Bill Croskey-Merritt has been nominated for the 4th time this season as the Pepsi Zero NFL Rookie of the Week for his outstanding effort in the team’s Week 17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
While Croskey-Merritt’s season has had a number of ups & downs, he has worked hard to become a dependable runner and pass protector. Three times before this he has been nominated for (and won) the award for his highly productive games against the Giants in Weeks 1 & 15 along with his first-ever NFL 100-yard game against the Chargers.
This week, Bill put together another 100+ yard performance — again with two rushing touchdowns to bring his season total to 8 trips to the end zone — this time, on just 11 carries, averaging 9.5 yards per tote. Importantly, it was also his second consecutive game without a fumble. Since putting the ball on the turf twice in Weeks 5 & 6, Bill has managed 91 touches over 10 games without a turnover.
This is a great chance for Commanders fans to again show appreciation for the rookie 7th-round draft pick who has been a sensation and fan favorite since his arrival in Washington.

Bill began his NFL career with an impressive Week 1 performance against the Giants that was historic.
In Bill’s three Rookie of the Week games, he has produced 298 yards and 5 touchdowns — an average of 99.3 yards and 1.66 TDs per game.
This week against Dallas, he exceeded both of those marks, running for 105 yards and adding a pair of touchdowns, including a 72-yard romp that is the longest of his career (so far).
