Cincinnati Bengals postgame wrap following win over Arizona Cardinals

Enquirer beat reporter Kelsey Conway breaks down the Bengals win over the Cardinals on Dec. 28.

The Cleveland Browns were without tight ends Harold Fannin Jr. and David Njoku in addition to linebacker Carson Schwesinger Jan. 2 for a third consecutive day of practice, and all three players were ruled out for their Week 18 game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

Fannin leads the Browns with 72 catches for 731 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his rookie season with Cleveland. He had seven catches for 63 yards during Cleveland’s Week 1 loss to the Bengals.

Schwesinger, also a rookie, leads the Browns with 156 tackles over 16 games. He had a team-high eight tackles against Cincinnati in Week 1.

Njoku ranks fourth on the team this season with 293 receiving yards in 12 games.

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, limited during practice Jan. 1 with a hip injury, returned Jan. 2 to the practice field.

Garrett, the NFL’s leader in sacks this season with 22, needs one more sack to break the league’s single-season record of 22.5, set in 2001 by Michael Strahan and matched in 2021 by TJ Watt.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Jan. 2 that running back Chase Brown is expected to face the Browns, but Taylor ruled out defensive end Joseph Ossai, defensive back Josh Newton and receiver/returner Charlie Jones.
