BATON ROUGE — The NCAA transfer portal is officially open.
And it’s new LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin‘s time to shine. At his previous spot at Ole Miss, Kiffin had built up the reputation of the “portal king.” Those who cover college football believe being at LSU will only strengthen his dominance of landing players out of the portal.
LSU football transfer portal activity is expected to be rampant as several current Tigers have announced their intention to enter their name into the portal. There are several positions of need for LSU as the portal opens up including quarterback, offensive line, linebacker and a few others.

The top rated quarterback currently in the transfer portal, Cincinnati senior Brendan Sorsby is planning to take a visit to LSU, per ESPN. He is expected to be in Baton Rouge sometime this weekend.
Sorsby has thrown for more than 7,000 yards in his career with 60 touchdowns. This past season at Cincinnati, he passed for 2,800 yards, 36 TDs while adding 580 yards on the ground.
Kiffin needs a quarterback for his first roster at LSU in a bad way and he’ll be heavily involved with the best options in the transfer portal and that starts with Sorsby.
