On the heels of national signing day, some past Greater Canton stars are entering the NCAA college football transfer portal. We’re tracking it here.

The next big date on the college football calendar is here, as bowl season winds down and the early signing period is over.

The new 15-day transfer portal winter window begins today and runs Jan. 2–16. With the elimination of the spring window, this 15-day stretch will be quite busy.

Who are the former Greater Canton-area high school football players looking to transferTyson DurantPrevious college: Washington State2025 season: Was a redshirt senior for the Cougars in 2025. Durant made 50 tackles, defended nine passes, intercepted two passes and recovered a fumble the last season he played for Washington State in 2024.Background: Starred at McKinley, earning second-team all-state honors as a senior after making 113 career tackles and gaining 2,100 all-purpose yards as a four-year letterman. Played in three games in Akron’s abbreviated 2020 COVID-season before playing all 12 games in 2021.Jay CrablePrevious college: Ohio University2025 season: Was named to the Mid-American Conference second team this season. Appeared in seven games for the Bobcats. Made 33 tackles, had eight tackles for loss and recovered one fumble.Background: Played for Massillon as a freshman and sophomore before transferring to Hoban for his final two years. Earned All-Ohio honorable mention as a wide receiver as a senior with the Knights. Caught 44 passes for 710 yards and five touchdowns that year.
