Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams still awaits a contract extension as voluntary OTAs approach next week.
Williams recently spoke with Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times at a charity event to help distribute new shoes to kids affected by the Eaton Fire. The Rams running back said he was “feeling good” about a potential deal.
“I know with time it’s going to happen,” Williams said.
Williams enters the final year of his rookie contract, set to earn $5.346 million in base salary. A fifth-round pick in 2022, Williams has earned $2.748 million total over his first three seasons, a paltry sum compared to his worth in L.A.
Williams has surpassed the 1,100-yard rushing mark in each of the past two seasons and compiled 26 rushing touchdowns.
The question at this stage is whether or not he will participate in the upcoming OTAs and mandatory minicamp in June without a new pact.
The potential of not getting a deal this offseason isn’t something that Williams was willing to discuss.
“I would love for it to get done so I can take care of my family and the loved ones that helped me get here,” he said. “I’ve always got trust in God. Whether it happens now or I play out the season, I know it’s going to happen eventually. And so, time will tell. I just know I’ve got to do what I need to do each and every single day to make sure that it does happen in my favor.”
