The Denver Broncos have ruled out linebacker Dre Greenlaw (hamstring) ahead of their regular season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers. This will mark the ninth game he has missed this season.
Greenlaw previously missed the first six games of the campaign with a quad injury, one game with a suspension and last week’s game with his current hamstring injury. The 28-year-old linebacker has totaled 43 tackles, two pass breakups, one interception, one forced fumble and one sack in eight appearances this season.
Greenlaw is expected to be ready for the playoffs, according to the Denver Post’s Luca Evans. With Greenlaw sidelined this week, Justin Strnad is set to make his eighth start of the season in Week 18. Strnad will be joined by Alex Singleton at inside linebacker.
The Broncos are going to be thin at linebacker, as they also ruled out Karene Reid (hamstring). They are likely saving Reid for the playoff run.
Denver may also be down defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (hip), who was listed as questionable.
Elsewhere on the injury front, tight end Nate Adkins (knee) and wide receiver Pat Bryant (concussion) appear to be on track to return after sitting out a Christmas win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver’s final injury report can be viewed below.
Sunday’s game (2:25 p.m. MT) will be regionally televised on CBS (view the TV broadcast map). With the Chargers resting quarterback Justin Herbert and select starters, the Broncos are considered big favorites this week.
