The Buffalo Bills will close out their regular season on Sunday.

With it will be the final game played at Highmark Stadium before the Bills move next door to a new, shiny stadium next season.

The New York Jets are the opponent, not exactly a formidable one, especially with undrafted rookie Brady Cook starting at quarterback.

It sets up a potentially fun day for Bills Mafia.

What’s at stake for Bills in Week 18?

The Bills don’t have a ton to play for in Week 18 as far as the playoff picture is concerned, with just some potential wild card seed maneuvering in play.

Buffalo is currently the No. 7 and final seed in the AFC, behind the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers in the other wild card spots.

If the Texans and Chargers both win, the Bills can’t move no matter what. If either of the teams above lose and the Bills win, they would leapfrog whoever lost.

There’s actually a case to be made that the Bills shouldn’t want to be the No. 5 seed, which would come with a road trip to the AFC North champ. And if that’s Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens, that’s not a good matchup for Buffalo.

Beyond the standings, the Bills want to send Highmark Stadium out on a good note.

They should also want to keep Josh Allen healthy, so he may not play a full game or even much of the game at all. Mitchell Trubisky will almost surely see the field at some point as the Bills’ backup QB.
